Uttarkashi

Uttarkashi, known as the "Kashi of the North" or Shivnagri, is a major holy town in Uttarakhand located at an elevation of 1,165 meters. It is famous for the ancient Vishwanath Temple and serves as a base for trekking (Dayara Bugyal) and Char Dham yatra (Gangotri/Yamunotri).
